Full Time Team Leader, Charity based in Rugby, Warwickshire, Starting Salary £9.79 per hour rising to £10.29 per hour on completion of probation

We are a local charity established for over 60 years by parents of children with learning disabilities with a dream of creating improved services and facilities for adults and their families. The charity specialises in support for adults to live interesting and fulfilling lives by offering a wide range of different types of care, tailored to individual requirements. Our wide range of services include; Home care, supported living, respite and residential services. We believe in providing high quality, good value services which are responsive to individual changing needs. Our staff are trained and highly skilled, however we continue to promote the opportunities of learning new skills.

We are now looking for Team Leaders to support service users as well as members of the team and to be responsible for the smooth running of shifts, ensuring service user needs, choices and dignity is put first.

Team Leader Main Duties:

  • Provide and maintain high standards of support and care
  • Participate and lead support staff with defined support programmes and ensure that staff are carrying out duties.
  • Support and lead staff to enable and encourage service users to participate in all aspects of living accordingly to ability
  • Administer and support service users with their medication and train staff to carry out these duties.
  • Direct, support and lead staff to encourage services users to actively contribute to the running for their home.
  • Cooperate with management in ensuring that the company complies with health and safety regulations
  • Report any deficiencies in the service of whatever nature to the manager and take action where appropriate.
  • Develop strategies to support staff to develop themselves.
  • Carry out audits as required.
  • Support the manager to maintain budgets.
  • Maintain petty cash and service users' monies and records.

Team Leader Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Willingness to undertake mandatory and appropriate training and a desire to develop new skills
  • Ability to read and understand policy documents and to ensure good standards of practice
  • Minimum grace C GSCE (or equivalent) in maths and English
  • Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care or working towards
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to lead a team efficiently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people, including service users, professionals and families.
  • Able to recognise the importance of health and safety and able to identify areas of concern
  • Experience in dispensing medication
  • Understanding of the importance in maintaining confidentiality.
