As a maths graduate intervention mentor you will integral to the maths department and in supporting the students within the department. You must have at least a 2.2 degree within a maths based subject as the school are looking for a graduate who can use their maths knowledge to support a range of learners. Some learners will be C/D borderline whilst others A/A* learners so no two days will be the same as each day you will be working with learners of different abilities. The head of maths will be your line manager and will offer dedicated and bespoke advice throughout the academic year. You will have the opportunity to plan and deliver small group intervention sessions for students which will be excellent experience for you should you wish to train to teach in 2018.

This Birmingham academy school is located south of Birmingham city centre and has recently been regarded as providing an outstanding learning opportunity for students. There is exceptional provision for EAL learners, of which over 50% of the student population speak English as an additional language. The school also has access to a local SEN provision facility where some children with special educational needs access on a weekly basis.
