Maths Learning Support Assistant - September start in Birmingham

We are currently looking for a Maths Learning Support Assistant to join a large secondary school in Birmingham; the role is expected to offer exciting progression in a great school environment..

We are seeking Maths graduates (or a related subject) who want to train as Maths teachers in the future. Is that you?

If yes, how about working as a Graduate LSA for the 2017/18 academic year in the Maths department of a large Birmingham secondary school, where you will gain the relevant classroom experience prior to starting a PGCE.

This role requires a creative Maths graduate who has already held a school-based position and achieved a 2:2 or above in your degree. You must show the ability to display a deep interest in the ways in which we learn and lead from the front as a role model. The school needs a graduate who has show a desire to improve the learning of all SEN pupils and an unwavering dedication to becoming a teacher. You will have the ability to display a clear passion to the education profession through dedication to the role. The successful Learning Support Assistant will have a genuine interest in well being of their pupils and a real passion for their specialism.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be supporting pupils either individually, in small groups or as a class. You will work closely with the class teacher and Head of Year to take responsibility for Maths intervention programmes, having your own small groups of students outside of the classroom. You will be monitoring pupils progress and relaying this back to the class teacher. The class teacher will expect you to assist with devising lesson plans which meet the requirements of the curriculum whilst addressing the individual needs of all pupils.
