Legal Cashier - Leicester - Excellent package My client is a highly regarded LLP within the Legal 500 and have offices throughout the East Midlands. They are currently seeking to employ a Legal Cashier to work in their Leicester office. The position is permanent, working 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. Starting salary will be circa £21k. The successful candidate will be expected to provide an efficient accounts and cashiering service to the fee-earners and staff within the Leicester office. Principal duties and responsibilities will be; Deliver practical services of outstanding quality that are focused on the Client`s needs. To ensure CHAPS payments are checked thoroughly before sending (amounts, bank sort codes, bank names and correct authorised signatures) and that they are checked against the computer system balances and comply with SAR. Process department bills, checking all disbursements and expenses are picked up and VAT and addition is correct. Input bills onto the computer and sure balances are correct. Ensuring correct database address is accepted for Credit Control purposes. Receive cheques, TT`s, cash, etc. Post to client ledgers, check that indents comply with Solicitor Accounts Rules. Prepare cheques as requested by fee-earners. Check indents with computer balances and compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules. Hand writing the cheques and then posting on to the system. Control of Petty Cash accounts using the Imprestsystem. Reconcile to the computer, cash box and book. Any differences should be reported immediately to the Client Account Manager. Dealing with reports to show credits in office account, client to office transfers. To notify Head Office of transfer amounts needed to put through to the bank. Keep filing of all paperwork up-to-date on a daily basis, in a logical order enabling ANYONE to find the relevant information instantly. To undertake all aspects of housekeeping, to include printing reports (client balances, aged WIP, Timeline WIP, Producingmonthly WIP figures and budget details etc.), issuing and chasing fee-earners for response, then actioning their requests. To train all new members of staff, to include accounts procedures, such as completing indents, how to use the accounts system. Providing more in-depth training where needed.
