Business Development Manager (Controls, Instrumentation, Pumps, Motors, Systems & Bespoke Projects) (Water Utilities, Contractors, Consultants) Applications:- Clean Water, Water Supply, Sewage Disposal, HVAC, Commercial etc (Major Global Blue Chip Manufacturer) £50-62.5K, Excellent Bonus, Car, Pension, Health, etc COMPANY - This very interesting opportunity has been created with this market leading global blue chip manufacturer of products for applications in the water, waste, and other sectors. - This high profile position reports directly to the Sales Director and has been created with this division of one of the market leading global blue chip manufacturer of, due to expansion and company development. The company manufactures engineered products for the clean water, waste water, water treatment, sewage, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, nuclear, industrial, process, food, beverage, commercial and associated markets. ROLE - To provide strategic and tactical implementation of new products and services into the UK and Ireland Water Utility sector. The role majors on embedding innovation across the sector to provide customers with value add solutions that align with market challenges and opportunities. Key responsibilities - National role across UK and Ireland working closely with the Area Sales Managers in developing business within target water utility key accounts for new innovations, products and services, including commercialisation of solutions, to the key accounts. - Responsibility for market strategy, activity planning and target setting for water utility key accounts for new products and services. - Create demand and specification for products and services and establish preferred supplier status with target accounts. - Coordinate, in collaboration with other teams, project enquiries, RFQs, tendering documentation, technical bid and terms & conditions appraisal. Maximise value added sales opportunities. - Develop processes and carry out product and application training programme for target customers and teams to transition new products and services into business as usual offerings. - Create greater awareness of us as a viable supplier in the water utility sector by leading all innovation activities. - Responsibility for market intelligence, within the water utility market in conjunction with GB marketing resource. - Use processes and systems to manage opportunities. - Mandatory duties & responsibilities: - Participate in ad hoc tasks as defined by your line manager and/or functional manager - Be an ambassador of the Values - Follow the guidelines and standards in the Code of Conduct - To carry out all duties and responsibilities with reasonable care for the health and safety of you and any other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate fully with health and safety matters WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Internal: - Water Utility internal sales team - Water Utility external sales team - Group and regional teams responsible for new products and services - Service functions - Local management and colleagues at all levels - Local and regional marketing teams External: - Build strong customer relationships to ensure we are given every opportunity to ensure we maximise sales - Sector bodies such as British Water - Supply chain partners to support the development of customer solutions QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE - Qualifications, ideally with an engineering or technical bias - Knowledge of SAP CRM / BW - Working knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, pumps or motors - Water Utility sector experience - Business Development and/or sales experience PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS - A high degree of commercial business acumen - Confident and articulate with excellent communication skills - The ability to work in a demanding and ever changing environment where meeting time deadlines are a key element of the role REQUIREMENTS - The Business Developments Managers role requires a flexible individual who has a good balance between sales, marketing and technical skills. Experience of Dealing with a specification type of sell is important and that individuals have a good technical background in a similar field.
