Senior Project Engineer - Utilities £35p/h - £45 p/h (Ltd) DOE 6 months Derbyshire My client provides bespoke and turnkey project planning, mechanical and electrical installations, complete engineering design risk assessment and complete engineering project management to a variety of areas in the process industry. Typical projects centre around the design and build of new process plants for the food, beverage, brewery and pharmaceutical sectors. My client has just won a new project in the Hertfordshire area, which involves the upgrade / refurbishment of an existing food facility. Your time will be split between Herts and Derbyshire. You will spend 80% of you time in the Derbyshire office. The role will involve: - Carrying out an in-depth site survey to identify the scope of the project - what is required to get the site functional? What will that involve? - Take this information alongside the client's spec to make sure you have captured all project requirements - Complete layouts (CAD or sketched) - utilise a draughtsman to complete the finished design - Cradle to grave management of utility engineering projects, taking responsibility for progress from design stages through to install and commissioning - Identify required equipment which needs to be procured for the site, contact suppliers and manage the tender process - Select sub-contractors / suppliers - oversee them and sign off on their work - Complete a final quote and get it signed off by the client The successful candidate must possess the following: - Time served project professional - used to managing projects of over £5M in value - Experience of working in the process industry, preferably involving utilities - Abel to oversee the creation of front end designs, incorporating site survey information, and the clients spec. - Create tenders for required Cap-Ex, and additional requirements - liaise with suppliers and negotiate deals - Able to head up cross-functional teams, and manage sub-contractors - Full lifecycle project management - cradle to grave The company will offer the successful candidate: - £35p/h - £45 p/h (Ltd) - An initial contract of up to 6 months with opportunities for extensions.
