IT Network Engineer Location: Derby Salary: Up to £45,000 Industry: Cosmetics Job Description An experienced Network Engineer is required to provide 3rd line support for networks, 2nd line for server and storage, as well as 1st line support to systems users as required. You will lead the 3rd line support of UK and international networks to maintain high standards of service to the business. Job Requirements & Qualifications - Provide timely and effective 2nd and 3rd line support for networks, servers and storage. - Provide 1st and 2nd line Service desk support to local system users as necessary. - Take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis in order to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible - Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents in network, server and storage environments (Windows Server 2003-2012, VMware & HyperV, Nutanix, Cisco routers/switches/firewalls) - Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10) and across a range of software applications. - Manage the implementation of PCs, laptops, printers, smart phones, tablets, and other peripheral hardware and associated software - Provide network support (TCP/IP, Antivirus and Windows Update Services) - Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels - Establish strong, collaborative working relationships with internal customers and colleagues. - Provide a professional, informative and efficient service at all times - Be proactive, prioritise issues well and base actions on what is best for the business Desirable skills: - Good general level of education in English Language and Mathematics. - Experience in system design, implementation, system capacity planning and system security principles. - Working knowledge of Cisco routers/switches/firewalls, SAN, RAID, EMC storage technology, Windows Server 2003-2012, VMware & HyperV, Nutanix, - Active Directory support - Working knowledge of MS Windows 7, 8 & 10. - Extensive experience in configuring and supporting PC hardware, smart phones, tablets, printers and other peripheral devices - Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people in a professional manner, face to face, on the telephone and in writing For more information on this role please contact Richard Bailey
