Job Title - Maintenance Supervisor Location - Leicester Salary - £36,000 Hour of Work - 8am - 5pm (Monday to Friday) The Company Our client is one of the Midlands largest recycling companies. With site across both the East and West Midlands, their purpose built sites can handle any form of recyclable waste. Their Leicester site processes 300,000 tonnes of mixed waste a year, with only 2.5% of this going to Landfill. The site houses a fully automated sortation, grading, shredding, washing and bailing systems all feed by a range of manual handling equipment including Forklifts, telehandlers and light yellow goods vehicles. Thanks to the continued growth of the business and an internal promotion, they now require a new Fleet Maintenance Manager. The Role The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities on site, overseeing a team of eight Maintenance Engineers. At present there is no PPM system in place, with the Engineers reacting to breakdowns as they arise. With business booming, the volume of waste needing to be processed on a daily basis is set to increase dramatically, so the plant needs to be running more efficiently. With no space to expand the plant, the business want the successful candidate to come in and implement a proper Computerised System to help reduce downtime. Once the schedule is in place the Maintenance Supervisor would then need to work to reduce unscheduled downtime further by targeting the biggest culprits for breakdowns through Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement and LEAN manufacturing techniques. The business knows this is not a task that will accomplished overnight and the Maintenance Supervisor will need to get hands on in the beginning to assist the Maintenance Team, moving into a completely hands of role in 12 to 18 months. As much the role is technically working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, in the4 beginning the successful candidate will need to be flexible in terms of their working hours as they audit the various shifts, complete project work and implement the new PPM System. The Candidate To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes: - Must have a recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Qualification. - Must have Man Management experience. - Must have prior experience managing a Maintenance Schedule. Due to the size of the equipment, our client is particularly interested in speaking to people who have been working in any of the following industries: Quarry, Mining, Construction Products, Special Purpose Machinery or Automated Logistics. Candidates who have recently left the Armed Forces with experience maintaining heavy equipment are also of interest.
